Carl Borgward's lower priced Lloyd line is here represented by the targeted competition for the VW bus in the US market. Priced at $300 below the VW bus, it experienced early success…not so much as time went on.
Which made it surprising to see here in this condition.
An ever surprising, market accessible and startlingly fast Beck 550 Spyder.
To put it in perspective the original 550 weighed in at 1325lbs, and produced 110hp.
The Beck, depending on prep, weighed it at 1275, producing 185hp from its SuperV engine.
Having spent quite a bit of time behind the wheel of one, it was a Chimera, made road car.
