Once again we express the Art Director themes of photography in this new digital gallery.
Now it may sound amusing at this point to refer to a new digital gallery. Truth be told, after shooting with the same 1964 Nikon F, using a hand held light meter, I was loath to go digital. Walking away from my practice of shooting to film's emulsion, and specifically the tricky Fuji Velvia 50, was against every creative instinct, but the number of professional E6 photo labs began vanishing faster than (fill in any 21st Century reference, the more sarcastic the better).
Then a photographer friend came to the house and shoved a new digital Nikon in my hands, saying, "get on with it." Or was it "Get over it."
In this new gallery we establish our digital exploration of the high contrast, bracketed shooting technique to create photographs where abstract intense chromatic compositions blend with representational imagery describing the engineering of the automobiles.
Once again expressing that only in natural light does an automobile reveal itself.
In this new gallery, just for a bit of fun, we go one step further. Here I discuss what was behind the compositions.
