Here at the back we have another revealing design element of the powertrain: the louvers. Louvers hadn’t been used with any regularity since before the war. Here it states clearly that this is an air cooled engine. At the same moment it is stating that this is a performance car. The louvers only to be found on Hot Rods of the period. This performance statement is made further by the flags incorporated below the logo, with its horizontally extended sans serif type face, and speed line beneath..
Once again we have the body line coming around the back to define the leading edge of the ‘hood’.
In Sixties design practice, we have the large glass green house roof and the low body line. All quite clean, bright and crisp. Here of course we have a summer sport Convertible.
