This is a classic Scuderia Ferrari ringer.
Hearing that the Maserati Brothers were going to fit out one of their Tipo 34 GP cars for the 1935 Mille Miglia, Enzo directed that one of the old factory P3 GP cars be fitted out as a 'road car'.
The Maserati T-34 was a 3729cc straight eight, putting out 290hp. This P3 was punched out to 2905cc and was putting out 255hp to its twin drive rear wheels.
The Scuderia then chose Carlo Pintacuda, he had a more jockey like frame than even Nuvolari. For team mate the even more slightly built Marquis Della Stufa was chosen.
It took them 14 hours, 4 minutes and 47 seconds, averaging 71.7mph to prove that Jano's great GP car, had the soul of an endurence racer.
